Peter Furniss was born in Manchester, and following a degree in French and Drama with study at London’s Guildhall School and the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, has performed throughout the UK, Europe and in Israel.  In 2003 he was a visiting soloist at the 1st Festival of Contemporary Music in Baku, Azerbaijan and in the autumn of 2004 made his recital debut in New York.  A CD of  American music, with pianist David Leiher Jones, has been recently released.  Peter has also played as guest with many leading orchestras, including the BBC Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Europe. He is also a member of the internationally renowned Impropera, giving completely improvised operatic performances in the UK and Europe, including the ‘World Impro Games’ in Helsinki and engagements in Norway and Canada.
 
David Leiher Jones studied at the Royal College of Music with Niel Immelman and John Barstow, where he won both the Tagore and Hopkinson Gold Medals and obtained a Masters’ Degree with a study of twelve-tone piano music. From 1989-91 he studied at the Liszt Academy in Budapest with Ferenc Rados and György Kurtág. David has broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and Swedish Radio, and appeared as a guest solo pianist with the New York City Ballet. He has also given recitals at the South Bank and King’s College London, and performed six concerti at the Royal Festival Hall. David is principal keyboard player of the Brunel Ensemble, with whom he has given many world premieres of ensemble commissions and featured in frequent radio broadcasts. He has given masterclasses at the Purcell School, and has taught at Oundle and Christ’s Hospital. He is currently Head of Keyboard at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford.
